SophiesPick
FAQ
A few things to know before you sit down.
What is SophiesPick?
A social poker platform for classic games, mixed tables and variants with a twist.
Do I need an account?
No. You can create or join a table as a guest, without signing up.
What games are available?
20 variants, including NL Hold'em, PLO and Sophie's Pick. The How To Play directory lists every game, and the Poker Variants Library has a complete rules page for each released game.
How do I create a private table?
Select Create Game on Home, choose Online and set your game and admission policy. Share the room code with your friends. The guide to hosting a private poker game online walks through every setting.
How do I join with a room code?
Select Join Game on Home, enter the room code and a nickname. Some tables require host approval.
What is Sophie's Pick?
Start with six cards in three pairs. Sacrifice a pair after the flop and another after the turn, leaving one pair for showdown.
Are the games real-money? Is there a rake?
The current beta uses play chips, not a real-money cashier. The game engine does not deduct a rake.
What are Poker Clubs?
Planned communities with members, game nights and a persistent discussion feed. Clubs are in development.
What is Match Play? Are ratings live?
Heads-up challenges: sign in and challenge a player by username, ranked or unranked. Ranked matches update your own rating for that game (Glicko-2); unranked matches never do. Leaderboards and matchmaking are not available yet.
Can I play on mobile?
Yes. The table is designed for desktop and mobile browsers. Keep the tab open while playing.
How is fair play protected?
The server controls online game state and checks player actions. This reduces client-side manipulation; it is not a guarantee against all cheating.
What happens if the server restarts?
Live rooms and gameplay sessions are currently held in memory and can be lost on restart. Completed hands already saved to the database remain stored.
