What is Studaha?

Studaha is a SophiesPick Stud/Omaha split-pot game. It deals like Seven-Card Stud, with two down cards and one up card to start, then adds a shared three-card flop after fifth street.

At showdown half of each pot goes to the best five of your seven personal cards, ignoring the flop, and half to an Omaha hand made from exactly two of your three down cards plus all three shared cards.

Fixed-Limit with antes and a bring-in rather than blinds, for 2-7 players.

Studaha

Studaha is a SophiesPick Stud/Omaha split-pot game. 2-7 players; no burn cards.

How to play

  1. Third Street: two down cards and one up card. Everyone antes; the lowest exposed card posts the bring-in.
  2. Fourth and Fifth Streets each add one up card, with betting after each.
  3. After Fifth Street, reveal one shared three-card flop and bet.
  4. Sixth Street adds one up card. Seventh Street adds one down card, with betting after each. Finish with three down and four up.

Fixed limit / action order

Small Bet on Third and Fourth Streets; Big Bet on Fifth Street, shared flop, Sixth and Seventh. No optional paired-board big bet on Fourth. One bet plus three raises per round.

Cash ante and bring-in are half Small Bet rounded down, minimum 1. Tournament level ante is used when positive. Complete a bring-in to one full Small Bet. No blinds are posted.

Third Street low-card ties use clubs < diamonds < hearts < spades. Later the strongest exposed high hand acts first; equal hands break clockwise from the dealer. Ace is high.

Showdown / split pot

Half goes to the best five of seven personal Stud cards, ignoring the board. Half uses EXACTLY 2 of the 3 down cards plus ALL 3 shared cards. Exposed cards cannot play the Omaha half. Win one half or scoop both. Stud high receives the odd split chip; tied winners receive remainder chips clockwise from the dealer.

Antes and the bring-in

In cash games, the ante and bring-in are each half the Small Bet, rounded down, with a minimum of one chip. In tournaments, a positive level ante replaces the default ante; otherwise, the same calculation applies. The bring-in remains half the Small Bet, rounded down, minimum one chip. No blinds are posted.

  • Playing an exposed card in the Omaha half: only your three down cards are eligible, exactly two of them plus all three shared cards.
  • Expecting blinds: Studaha uses an ante and a bring-in, and no blinds are posted.
  • Betting the small bet after fifth street: the big bet applies from Fifth Street through Seventh Street, including the shared flop.
