What is Hold'em Bomb Pot?

A Hold'em Bomb Pot skips preflop betting entirely: every player posts the configured bomb ante and the hand goes straight to two flops.

Two boards are dealt in parallel, each evaluated separately with Hold'em rules, and every eligible pot is divided equally between them. You can win one board, tie, or scoop both.

Pot-Limit on SophiesPick, 2-7 players; in tournaments the bomb ante is five big blinds plus the level ante.

Starting cards

2 private cards. 2 community boards.

How to play

  1. Every player posts the configured BOMB ANTE. There is NO PREFLOP BETTING.
  2. Deal two flops, then flop betting.
  3. Deal two turns, then turn betting.
  4. Deal two rivers, then river betting and showdown.

Showdown

Make the best five-card hand using 0, 1, or 2 hole cards and the community board.

Pot distribution

Each eligible pot is divided equally between Board 1 and Board 2. Evaluate each separately. Win one board, tie, or scoop both.

Common mistakes

  • Waiting to act preflop: there is no preflop betting round, every player is in for the ante.
  • Reading the two boards as one: each board is evaluated separately and never combined.
  • Assuming a strong hand on one board wins everything: each pot is split equally between Board 1 and Board 2.
