What is PLO Bomb Pot?

A PLO Bomb Pot starts with every player posting the bomb ante and no preflop betting; the hand goes straight to two flops.

Two boards run in parallel. Each is evaluated with Omaha rules, exactly two hole cards plus three cards from that board, and every eligible pot is divided equally between Board 1 and Board 2.

Pot-Limit, 2-7 players, with the tournament bomb ante set at five big blinds plus the level ante; the richest starting pots in the Omaha family.

Starting cards

4 private cards. 2 community boards.

How to play

  1. Every player posts the configured BOMB ANTE. There is NO PREFLOP BETTING.
  2. Deal two flops, then flop betting.
  3. Deal two turns, then turn betting.
  4. Deal two rivers, then river betting and showdown.

Showdown

Use EXACTLY 2 hole cards + EXACTLY 3 community cards from the evaluated board. You cannot play the board or use 1, 3, or 4 hole cards.

Pot distribution

Each eligible pot is divided equally between Board 1 and Board 2. Evaluate each separately. Win one board, tie, or scoop both.

Common mistakes

  • Waiting for a preflop round: everyone is in for the ante and the first betting round is on the flop.
  • Using one or three hole cards: Omaha's exactly-two rule applies on each board.
  • Treating the two boards as one pot: each pot is split equally, so you can win one board, tie, or scoop both.
